UXUBOS 64bit
Updated Xubuntu Operating System
2014.12.02 (Changelog: https://sourceforge.net/p/uxubos/blog/)

The main goal of this project is simple: Just have an updated Xubuntu 64bit ready to install, with multimedia support, some cosmetic changes and updated bleeding edge software!
Note: If you want to try any different language in live mode, you have to select it in settings then log off/on with xubuntu (username) / blank (no password).

*Updates:
Now with Compiz, startup sound and Event Sounds enabled! For compiz just click on the down right icon and select it. To use compton, first disable “compositing effects”. Do not enable compton neither before or after compiz. To use compton after compiz you have to log off/in.
To disable sounds, just go to “Settings/Appearance/Settings” and uncheck “Enable event sounds”

*Highlitghs:
Created using UCK – Ubuntu Customization Kit.
Ubuntu 64bit 14.10 fully updated, full compatibility, nothing in the main core is changed, so you can update normally.
Full Multimedia Support with event sounds enabled!
No need to download hundred megabytes after installation!
Plenty of PPAs available with latest software!
Note: The kernel is the same as the released one, apparently UCK does not support kernel updates... After installation please update the kernel or use the the latest mainline kernel provided in /var/cache/util (see below).
Various applications already installed inclunding, Audio/Video codecs, Flashplugin, Oracle Java 8, etc... all free from repos/ppas. Many other repos/ppa's can be enable in synaptic with just a click.
Very handy to be used as live environment for privacy or rescue/clean infected windows machines (undelete and antivirus in the /var/cache/util).
After install at first boot you may get a corrupted video or wrong resolution, just login and reboot, then it should be normal

Live environment - Username: xubuntu, Password: blank/none (just press enter).
If you want to try mate in live mode, you have to install it, logout from xubuntu/xfce and relogin with mate selected in lightdm. You can achieve this by clicking on top right corner.

Disclaimer: All the usual “I'm not responsible for anything” applies here;
I'm NOT responsible for any Data Loss or damage to your system. I don't plan to offer any support in near future, as I'm not a programmer and this is just a hobby for me.

*Pre Install: At least 10Gig partition for root, installation may take a long time depending on your internet speed because there are many PPAs enabled...

*Installation: Burn the ISO to a Pendrive or a DVD
In Windows use your favorite burning app or for a USB Pendrive the best options are
https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/files/Archive/ or http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

In Linux use unetbootin too or in Ubuntu use the default “Startup Disk Creator”. You can also install mintstck (available in /var/cache/util/).
Select your system to boot from USB or CD/DVD
Note: The installation processes can take a long time because there are too many available PPA's. The installer sometimes seems to in be in loop, just wait, please be patient...
*To speed up the install process, disable internet connection and select “3rd party software”.

*Some apps not available in the standard repos or ppa's and a copy of this readme are available at: /var/cache/util

*Post Install suggestions
1- If you like the panel at top: Right Click on the Panel, Go to Panel, Panel Preferences, Un-Check “Lock panel”, Grab the panel by one of the ends (The handles, two vertical dots rows on the ends), Drag the panel to the top, Re-Check “Lock panel”, close.
2- Rearrange Whisker menu: Right Click on Whisker menu, Properties, Appearance tab, Check “Position commands next to search entry”. Now move to Behavior tab, Check “Switch categories by hovering”
3- Nice Window Theme: Whisker menu, Type Settings Manager, Window Manager, Style Tab, select Wallis or Default
4- If you have Nvidia or ATI, go to: Whisker menu, Type Settings Manager, Hardware, Additional Drivers and pick the best/newest driver for you card!
5- Reduce Screen Tearing: Whisker menu, Type Settings Manager, Window Manager Tweaks, Compositor tab, Check “Enable display compositing” and “Synchronize drawing to vertical blank”
Note: If you have Nvidia drivers installed it's better to skip this option and go with compton which is installed but not enabled (create a launcher “compton --vsync opengl”)
6- To enable other repos or PPA's open “synaptic/settings/repositories/other software” and check the ones you want and “reload” button. If you get errors about missing gpg keys, open terminal and type: “sudo launchpad-getkeys”, then go back to synaptic.

Advanced Users: Compiz is installed but no enabled, it is not stable; if you want to enable follow these steps:
a- First open settings/ CCSM and select/check Window Decoration and replace Command with: “/usr/bin/emerald”
b- Go to preference and import /var/cache/util/compiz.profile
c- Create a launcher with separate commands: “compiz –replace” and “xfm4 –replace” (to restore standard xfwm)
d- Before shutdown or reboot it advisable to return to xfwm4

*Apps on /var/cache/util folder (please note these apps are not available in std repos, so they won't be updated, you have to update by yourself) most of them can be installed just by double clicking:
2048 (game), Comodo Antivirus, MintStick (to format/write image to USB sticks), R-linux (file undelete/recovery utility).
Latest stable mainline kernel also available (sudo dpkg -i linux*.deb), bear in mind if you install this kernel it will no longer be updated, you have to do kernel updates by yourself.
