A new look, an installer, the notification area and signed in-app updates. Your watch list carries over.

Download UnifiStockWatcher-Setup.exe (github.com) (installs for your Windows user, no admin prompt) or the portable UnifiStockWatcher-win64.zip (github.com). The app isn't code-signed, so Windows may say Windows protected your PC: More info → Run anyway.

New

  • Windows 11 look, light and dark, following Windows or set by hand, in Windows' accent colour or your own, sharp at any display scale. (The five colour presets, per-colour pickers and font choice of 2.x are replaced by this.)
  • The notification area. Closing the window keeps watching; the icon turns green when something you watch is in stock. Start with Windows starts it there.
  • Notifications you can click to open the product's page.
  • An installer and a portable zip, instead of single-file exes.
  • Signed updates. The app checks GitHub once a day and installs a new version with one click, after checking its signature and checksum.
  • A faster catalog: hundreds of products appear at once; sort by name, category, price or status.
  • History now keeps changes (a product coming back or selling out, watched or anywhere in the store), searchable and exportable as CSV.
  • Check now works without starting the watcher.

Fixed

  • 2.x's history logged every check, so a busy watch list pushed every real change out of the file within an hour; and "in-stock alerts" counted checks, not alerts.
  • Adding or removing a product reset every other card to "unknown" until the next check.
  • A damaged or hand-edited settings.json (an unknown store, a bad colour) could stop the app starting.
  • Product ids from an imported watch list went into store URLs unchecked.
  • At 150 % display scaling the 2.x window was laid out too small, cutting off the activity log and the buttons on each row.
  • A product found in stock by a quick check and a regular check at the same moment alerted twice.

Moving from 2.x

The watch list, settings and history now live in %APPDATA%\UniFi Stock Watcher. The first time 3.0 starts, it copies 2.x's files there from beside the program (nothing is moved or overwritten). The portable zip keeps its files beside itself, so unzipping it over a 2.x folder keeps using them.
