amazing job I install the lite version on my laptop and from there all the options are open , sweet and friendly ,people don't complaint this is a project going forward ,keep up the good work

After attempting to install numerous versions of Ultimate Edition on my HP Probook, (and this is over 2 years!!), today I finally got version 6.7 to install without a hiccup of any kind and it's working like a well oiled machine!!!! Thank you Theemann for this OS, I've wanted it to work for so long and almost gave up completely. If it continues to perform like this, it will be the only OS I use. Windows will become a thing of the past along with the other linux distros I have on my machine(Makulu, MX Linux). Thx, Kijeshi

I've found Ultimate to be pretty much hit or miss. Some versions have downloaded and set right up. Others have been D.O.A. When it's right I love it which makes it a bigger disappointment when it doesn't work right!

after a 19 minute DL, burning and booting the DVD, nothing. the disc rolled for about 45 seconds then quit. nothing. nada. quite a let-down from the days of Ultimate OZ. Thee Mahn has degenerated into a complete waste of time and effort. reading the reviews, others have had much worse experiences. if your code is sound, you need to start checking your mirrors--this is a suck experience.

Complainers have no place here, this person has gone out of his way to create an os thats better than windows10 by a mile. Ive been using this os for years and now its running on my ryzen 2700x system, its brilliant.

After years of not being to install any version of it all, it finally installed and boy is it a good distro. Am looking forward to a bright future. Many thanks.

Gave up on UE about 9 years ago when it became unbootable and still found that to be the case up until this 6.6 beta release; booted up from standard Rufus USB create and it surprised the hell out of me by booting no problem with Arch levels of hardware support (full audio, wireless and graphics on Chuwi Hi10 [Intel Cherrytrail Atom] ), the audio announced on startup with a Cylon "by your command" which was on my otherwise badly supported device Slight niggle when it refused to read an exFat sd card and I couldn't find a screenshot launcher but found it using "print screen" key So I say to all those who have had problems in the past to give this a try and I'll report back when I've had a go at a full install...

You are an absolute loser. I feel pity for your "linux" mania. I'm sure that your "distros" are nonexistent. I never succeeded installing one of your distros. It's ridiculous that distrowatch keeps monitoring your bulls*** distro.

Downloaded twice. Lite edition never booted. KDE Plasma booted live but could not install with errors. Pathetic waste of bandwidth when checks are not in place to upload reliable ISO.

I have been following and using Ultimate Edition since version 3.x. It's the best non-Windows operating system around for those who don't like giving up all their private data to Microsof(t). All Linux/ubuntu derivatives have trouble dealing with the millions of combinations of hardware avaiable through the years. So match the version to the date of your machine, especially on laptops. Don't download the latest version and expect it to work on a 12 year old laptop. You need to pick an older version so you get the hardware matched. I like trying different versions, and I'll spend a week (after work) installing versions starting with the newest and then work my way backwards to find the newest version that does work. Also some laptops won't install from USB even though they'll boot from a USB. This makes it take even longer (burning DVDs and all), BUT, it's worth it to get a great, fast, operating system that doesn't bow to the Corporate Tyrant Microsoft. It's always frustrating to get errors but google them and you'll find the fixes. The amount of free software is worth the trouble, unless you're a windows cry-baby. The new 5.5 version looks like windows, I like the 5.0 desktop better. This is an operating system that can do 98% of what windows can and it's FREE, gives you free software, and gives you free versions to use the one you like. Ubuntu is great but one look at Ultimate Edition Desktop and you know you've found a design team in UE that knows what they're doing!

Hasn't been worth the effort since 3.0 series. Today, trying to update my old UE3.4.2 I wasted 4 hrs downloading, first, 4.2.3 lite, live dvd opened but Firefox was messed up jammed way at the top of the screen and couldn't be moved or expanded. Next 4.4 lite, burned DVD perfectly but wouldn't open as live DVD past the mdm, just flashed error. Total wasted time 5 hours plus wasted DVD's. I'll kill myself before I ever look at another Ultimate Edition again. Doesn't anyone on that team ever install these in a real world machine before release? Guess not. That's why I never send them any money. :-(((

I have been using Linux for several years now. I still think of myself as a Noob. One thing I learned early on with downloading ISO files is USE A DOWNLOAD MANAGER! All you one star people giving bad reviews because you haven’t learned that simple lesson. Ultimate Edition Linux is THEE OS! Thee Mahn and his team are striving for perfection. I myself think they are getting very close!

I'm a big fan of Ultimate Edition but not alpha:(, any information about upgraded version like Kubuntu 16.04? Malware confirmed on this site? why? Full Ultimate 4.9 is great but have problem with energy saving and must manually reset my pc

Wont even run a live version. It hung up and after the 4 hour DL I found out that this is a Freaking Alpha!!! WTF? Why not link to more stable versions too?

Neither Ultimate Edition 3.0 x86 gamers nor 4.6 x86 gamers will run in live mode or install. I downloaded both distros multiple times and tried to load both with no success. Do not waste your time.

Typical crap UE. Tried burning the iso to dvd, tried unetbootin, mint stick and suse image writer for UE 4.7 and none worked.

I got an email tryiung to get me to download and instrall this new ULTIMATE LniuxMint - so I had to click on just to find out I had already tried it 6 months ago tenaciously and with quite a lot of bitter disappointment. I believe that this is simply someone’s manipulated linux Mint install, which is quite pretty and in theory is a great idea ... HOWEVER ... DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME, and here is why. 1/ It won't install with your personal login name/ password/ language etc. .. JUST HIS! 2/ You can't change it to your own after installation as easily as one may think (requires changing your root folder your home folder and ALL it's permissions while outside of the operating system (Using another Distro). Not simple or easy by ANY means, 3/ He has used a large number of repositories for some awesome software BUT!!!! sadly he does not allow you to know which ones (must have took a lot of effort on his part to hide it ... WHY? well probably this is the only real big benefit of this ISO as well as the corresponding software it allows. Hmmm weird. 4/ In doing his convoluted repository he has somehow strayed from Mint's basic structure and this or some other reason leaves it UNABLE to Update with MintUpdate (which is CRUCIAL) or Ubuntu's Update Manager or any other. 5/ Related to this is, when (not if) you have problems, only he can help you. To be clear there is No HELP from Linux Mint Forums or Ubuntu forums or any other - so you will be stuck with a beautiful piece-o-s***e hehe 6/ In 6 months he/she has failed any correspondence with my question - so I assume there is NO - I repeat NO support for it. Infuriating! 7/ What is odd that to do all this he/she must have fully known what he/she was doing and has strayed seriously away form the open source philosophy, he could have done it with out ANY of these problems, and for the most part it would have been much easier ... again ... WHY? In short any new Linux Users will be left first loving Linux (It is quite SEXY), then hating it because of it's MANY problems. May I suggest (no benefit to anyone's wallet) for new Linux Users (If you like this, install a clean - and of course free current Linux Mint and have fun making it look as cool and sext as this one or better yet COOLER and SEXIER. hello download the 4.3 version brings gnome says, but when it starts and comes with kde installed after closing session leaves start gnome nor install I hope it checked thank you very much

Ca not download a copy of Ultimate Edition 3.4 with a matching MD5 number.
