The project is current with TWAIN v2.3. As with all TWAIN
applications it works with any Data Source Manager and any
TWAIN driver (data source) version.
The repository is split into four projects:
- TWAIN definitions
- Toolkit
- Sample application
- Diagnostic application
The Toolkit references the TWAIN definitions, and the Sample and
Diagnostic applications reference the Toolkit. This design makes
it easier to maintain the project and to add new toolkits or
applications. It is expected that developers will copy the
source code files directly into their projects without relying on
references.
The binaries for the Sample and Diagnostic Applications are
provided as a convenience for developers who want to try out the
code. We're releasing x86/x64 binaries. Bear in mind that at
this time most TWAIN drivers are still 32-bit. The 64-bit binary
will only work if 64-bit TWAIN drivers are present.
Known Issues
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Still looking for more tests with various scanner vendors.
- The code has not been tested with 64-bit Mono on the Mac.
There may be some mashalling issues.
- The Sample and Diagnostic Applications rely on WinForms, it
would be nice to have Mono versions of these.
