Welcome to touch OS! ***************************************************** Please read carefully before installation. Thank you. Login Live System: Username: live Password: live Background: touch OS LTS is a Debian Gnome derivative, runs on the stable LTS 6.1 kernel. touch OS LIQUORIX is a Debian Gnome derivative, powered by the advanced Liquorix 6.5 kernel. Configuration: Both the LTS and LIQUORIX versions allow you to switch between Wayland and Xorg window managers through the Log-in screen. While Xorg is the preferred choice for touch interfaces in tablet mode, Wayland delivers improved performances and enhanced security. Repositories and updates: touch OS is built upon Debian 12.1 with Gnome 4.36 and relies on its repositories and software store. touch OS is set for Debian's automatic updates via the store or manually via Synaptic. Installation: touch OS can be installed on the entire hard drive, alongside other OS or replace an existing partition. It is deeply recommended to test the live system before installation. Detailed instructions can be found on "How to install" at the touch OS Wiki: https://sourceforge.net/p/touch-os/wiki/Home/ (under construction) Support: As touch OS is a fork of Debian 12.1, the preferred address will be the official channels of Debian 12 Bookworm at: https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-faq/support.en.html. VirtualBos is pre installed on touch OS, but can be used only on the LTS version. If you are using the LIQUORIX version and wish to run rhe VirtualBox, you can restart the computer and choose kernel 6.1 at the Grub menu screen. 2. In order to keep VirtualBox working after kernel 6.1 updates, please download and install the updated linux-headers accordingly (e.g. linux-headers-6.1.X-XX-amd64). This can be easily done via Synaptic. Who am I? My name is Udi and I am the developer of touch OS. I am a designer and doing it volunteerily on my own as a contribution to the community.
