================= Readme 2017-11-19 ================= * What is TOS? An operating system run on my tenputers. * What is tenputer? A computer which is used more than ten years. * Why you write TOS? I have some tenputers and I want to write an OS, so I write TOS for my tenputers. * What features will be supported? x86, 32-bit, preemptive, multi-threaded, virtual memory, demand loading. * What is the license? Apache License v2. * What are the platforms supported by TOS? TOS is building on Windows 98/XP. TOS is running on my tenputer. * What environment is required to build TOS? You need to install MSYS-1.0.8 and MinGW-3.0.0. * How to build TOS? Extract TOS source to a directory then type make at the TOS top directory. The output file is named image under the TOS top directory. * How to run TOS? Currently, TOS is boot from floppy. Write the image to an 1.44M floppy then boot from that floppy. * Test tenputer 1998 MB: ASUS P2B-VM CPU: Pentium II 350 MHz RAM: 96 MBytes HD: 2 GBytes
