NEW WINDOWS AND LINUX 64-bit BINARIES ADDED MAC OSX BINARY INSIDE "Tochnog-Latest June 26 2012" folder Dear Tochnogers, I have built a Windows version of Tochnog, named Tochnog.exe and have placed it inside a folder that I have named Windows Linux 64-bitbinaries-Feb-2013. The folder also contains a Linux 64-bit version kindly built by longtime Tochnog developer Osman Buyukisik. Thanks Osman! After testing the behavior of the LAPACK library I rebuilt it and linked the windows 64-bit version using only dynamic libraries and it runs much faster now. I am enclosing the updated files built on February 26, 2013. In order to run properly, the two applications need several libraries to rum. The list of the libraries needed are listed and are as follows: For windows 64-bit you will need to copy the following included libraries to your C:\Windows\System32 folder. libblas.dll libf2c.a liblapack.dll libquadmath-0.dll libgfortran_64-3.dll libgcc_s_sjlj_64-1.dll libquadmath_64-0.dll For the Linux 64-built version, you need to download and install the following libraries: linux-vdso.so.1 liblapack.so.3gf libpthread.so.0 libstdc++.so.6 libm.so.6 libgcc_s.so.1 libc.so.6 libblas.so.3gf libgfortran.so.3 libquadmath.so.0 You will need to use your Linux updating system to download those libraries and install them in your system. For the windows version the easiest way to run Tochnog is, after copying the libraries inside the System32 folder, to create a new folder were you either intend to, or are already running your input files, and put a copy of the Tochnog.exe application in it. Then to run a file, simply click and drag the file onto the Tochnog icon. This will open a new command window where, if you have the line "echo -yes" in the input file you will see the execution. The flavia.msh file and the flavia.res files will be written to that folder. HOWEVER, IF THE INPUT FILE HAS MISTAKES, THE COMMAND WINDOW WILL CLOSE AND YOU CANNOT READ WHAT THE ERROR IN THE INPUT FILE IS. To overcome that issue, simply open a command window, change the directory to the folder that contains your input file and type "Tochnog.exe your-input-filename.dat" and hit return. The command window will remain open and you can read the error report generated by Tochnog. For running the Linux version, from the terminal window go to the folder where your input file is located and type "tochnog your_imput_filename.dat" to process the input file. Both, the Windows and Linux 64-bit versions can use the Bi-Conjugate or the LAPACK solvers, and contain the must up to date sources. To use the "options_solver -matrix_lapack" in the input file if you want to use the faster LAPACK solver. The Mac OSX binaries inside the folder Tochnog-Latest June 26 2012 folder is still up to date and equivalent to the new Linux and Windows Versions Best regards, Please help update and keep TOCHNOG alive!!!! F. Lorenzo
