Tidycade - Windows Test 4

The same eight games, with smaller cards, more room for cover art and easier-to-read titles. Green progress replaces the grey download information while installing. Use arrow keys to move between cards and Enter or Space to choose a game; your selection stays in place during downloads. Play and Uninstall controls recover if a response is lost.

Pocket the Place, OpenTTD, OpenTyrian, OpenHV, Shattered Pixel Dungeon, VoxeLibre (with Luanti), Warzone 2100 and Cataclysm: Bright Nights. Full artwork credits and licences are in Credits.

Download and open

  1. Download tidycade-windows-test-4.zip from Assets below. This is for 64-bit Intel/AMD Windows.
  2. Extract the whole ZIP to a writable folder. Do not run the program from inside the ZIP.
  3. Open Tidycade-Windows-TEST.exe. The library opens in your default browser. No Python installation is needed.
  4. Choose a game, Install, then Play. Pocket the Place is a small first download. Installed games also appear under Installed.

A browser must be installed and set as the default. Read START-HERE.txt and keep attribution/ with the program. This unsigned test executable may show an unknown-publisher warning. Do not run as administrator or automatically bypass security warnings; stop if unsure.

Downloads and saves

Installation shows progress, Cancel and Retry. Keep Tidycade running during downloads. Browser reloads keep the job while the program is running. Quitting Tidycade or rebooting interrupts downloads; they start over. Installation results are not saved across launcher restarts.

Keep home/ beside the executable when updating. VoxeLibre, Warzone 2100 and Cataclysm: Bright Nights use save/configuration folders outside their installed game files. VoxeLibre supports creating multiple worlds and keeps those worlds when its game files are uninstalled or reinstalled. Browser-game progress depends on using the same browser profile and game address. Some games also use their normal user folders for settings.

Requirements and test status

Games download separately from official sources when you choose Install. Internet is required for installation; game hardware requirements and first-run prompts still apply. Offline support varies by game.

This remains a Windows test release. Package installation and save-folder handling have been checked. It is not a claim of complete gameplay testing on native Windows. An earlier OpenTyrian check under Wine failed to open its game window, then opened on a repeat.

Ubuntu downloads are separate. Older releases remain available. Choose the named Windows ZIP, not GitHub's automatic Source code links, which contain the downloads page rather than the program.

The optional .sha256 file checks download integrity. ZIP SHA-256: 2764deececba7590531eeb33935712ea806b564c3c702659dfcd5eab88674430.
