Tidycade - Windows Test 1

This is a Windows test build for trying the launcher, not a finished Windows release. It is separate from the Ubuntu version and has only two installable games: Pocket the Place and OpenTTD 15.3 with its free graphics, sound and music packs.

Download and try

  1. Download tidycade-windows-test-1.zip from Assets below.
  2. Extract it into a folder you can write to. Do not run it from inside the ZIP.
  3. Open games-launcher.exe. The launcher is designed to open its Library in your configured default browser. No Python installation is needed.

The program and its window still use the original generic Games Launcher/Games names. This older download predates the Tidycade name inside the app.

What is and is not checked

Installation, restart and uninstall have been checked without an interactive Windows desktop. Opening from a real Windows desktop, the browser window, and interactive gameplay have not yet been verified. It does not contain the full Ubuntu library, and compatibility varies by computer.

If Windows shows an unknown-publisher or security warning, do not bypass it automatically. Stop if you are unsure. Do not run the launcher as administrator.

Keep the home folder beside the executable when updating. Browser-game progress depends on the same browser profile and game address; changing either can make progress unavailable.

The optional .sha256 file checks download integrity. Expected ZIP SHA-256: 0fa1f96a1f2494c9cb87318cec028860199e70759daead8568b0db8d53650eaa.

Choose the named Windows test ZIP, not GitHub's automatic "Source code" links. Those links contain the downloads page, not the launcher.
