Colobot: Gold Edition is a space adventure in which you program robots to explore planets, gather resources and complete missions. This package uses the original Ubuntu 0.2.0-2build2 game and data. The game identifies this version as 0.2.0-alpha.
For Ubuntu 22.04 or newer on x86-64 with X11 or XWayland, a working OpenGL driver and system sound. Extract colobot-helper-candidate-2.zip and run start-colobot.sh. Uses mouse and keyboard. No system package installation is needed. This is an independent repack, not an official Colobot release.
The helper includes component copyright notices, full license texts and exact file ledgers. The separate colobot-corresponding-source-2.zip contains the matching original source archives, Ubuntu/Debian patches and build instructions for the game, data, fonts and bundled libraries. Game code, data and music are GPL-3.0-or-later; fonts and libraries have the terms given in their notices.
Saves stay outside the installation at XDG_DATA_HOME/colobot, normally ~/.local/share/colobot. Removing the installation does not delete saves. Regular missions support Save/Load; exercises may disable it.
Checks on a controlled Ubuntu setup covered launch, input, save/load after a process restart and non-silent audio through a virtual sound route. This is not a full campaign test, physical-speaker listening test, native Wayland qualification, Windows support or a guarantee for every graphics driver.
