Alex the Allegator 4, a jungle platform game by Johan Peitz, packaged for Ubuntu 22.04 or later on x86-64. Extract the helper and run start-alex4.sh. Requires X11 or XWayland and normal desktop graphics and audio. Arrow keys move, Alt jumps, Ctrl fires when available, and Escape pauses. Press another key to resume, or Escape again to leave the round. Press Escape and then Enter at the menu to quit. The farewell screen takes a few seconds. Options and high scores stay in ~/.alex4 outside the installation. Rounds are not saved.

This build uses the exact upstream source and Debian patches with a portable data path, without additional source-file or media changes. Original GPL2-or-later terms, owning notices, dependency notices, complete corresponding sources and exact build instructions accompany these files.

These exact files passed independent source, rights and native runtime checks: movement, jumping, collecting a cherry and scoring, losing a life and respawning with the score retained, pause/resume, options and the default high-score table after restarting, captured audio and normal quit. A new earned high-score entry, physical speakers, fullscreen, gamepads, the level editor and bonus games have not been verified. Catalogue activation is checked separately.
