- Reads EXIF with the standard library only (no Pillow/exiftool): JPEG, HEIC/HEIF, TIFF, DNG, CR2, CR3, NEF, RW2, RAF.
- Uses DateTimeOriginal, then DateTimeDigitized, then DateTime; files without EXIF fall back to the modification date.
- Checked against ExifTool on its own sample images (50/50 identical) and fuzzed with 3,000 corrupted files (no exceptions, no hangs).
- Not read: dates stored only in XMP/IPTC.
