A Windows only 2.5D CAD CAM application. The user experience tightly integrates the CAM aspects when doing design and layout. The target users will layout their design and then immediately generate CNC code.
The goal is a design application closer to Adobe Illustrator than to AutoCAD. The user specifies machining aspects during object creation so that when the design/layout phase is completed the toolpath generation can occur automatically.
What is 2.5D? Objects created are flat (2D) but have a depth component. So you can create a square that will be machined at a specific depth but the depth will be constant accross the square.
It is not/does not:
A general purpose CAD (AutoCAD) type program.
Support reference dimension on the drawing.
Export or import major CAD file formats.
- Multithreaded 3D part and toolpath preview
- GCode toolpath generation
- ShopBot toolpath generation
- Text based design support
- Built-in geometric shapes
- CSG style combinations of cuts
- Unlimited Undo/Redo
- Limitted Adobe Illustrator import support
- Spline or simple based lines
- Pocket toolpaths for closed geometries
- Flip or mirror designs
- Manually trace over bitmap image
- Grid layout with snap to line option
Thanks for creating this software. I have just started using it and it looks very promising. I have a problem with the 3D view. Specifically it complains about lack of direct draw, which IS installed on my windows 7 machine. Do you plan to make the source code available?
es un buen programa para novatos en el tema cnc... a mi en particular me ayudo mucho.
My desire for a CAD / CAM app is towards generating code for my CNC milling machine. This application seems optimized / specialized for exactly that kind of use. That awareness of the desired output is apparent throughout the design tool, and that makes a big difference compared to more general 3D design apps. Overall, I find this to be one of the easiest CAD apps I've sampled, and I've tried 10 or so in the last couple months.
