How sad that I can no longer use it: I can only successfully load the graphical boot environment, which is useless for repair and recovery tasks. Trying to load the default grub item got me as far as trying to load the kernel, where it just hangs. Yes, I assumed I had created a coaster, and so wasted another disc making a second copy that performed just as disappointingly.
Thankfully there's still a diehard group maintaining Hiren's CD, so I'm downloading that now.
