🎧 SyncWave v2.0.0 — Independent Volume & Native Windows 11 UI
A major update focused on the core problem SyncWave existed to solve: per-device volume that's now genuinely, permanently independent — plus a UI that finally looks and feels like it belongs on Windows 11.
🔊 The headline fix
Previously, whichever device Windows treated as your default output ("Source") could silently zero out every other synced device's audio, no matter what their own volume sliders showed. This is now completely resolved: audio capture uses Windows' Process Loopback API instead of basic WASAPI loopback, so no device's volume can affect any other's, ever — including the Source device's own Windows volume.
✨ What's new
- 🔈 Fully independent per-device volume — the core fix this release is built around
- 🖥️ Native Windows 11 UI — Acrylic/Mica backdrop, automatically follows your system light/dark theme
- 📌 System tray support — minimize to tray, with a quick-volume flyout (like Windows' own volume popup) for fast access without opening the main window
- ⚡ Optional High Performance Mode — opt-in reduced-latency mode (~15-20ms vs ~30ms default) for stronger CPUs, in a new Advanced settings section
- 🎚️ Volume range: default max raised from a flat 200% to a safer 125%, with 200% still available as an Advanced toggle for anyone who wants it
✅ Carried over from v1.0.0
- 🎯 Latency compensation + per-device manual delay (0–500ms)
- 📊 Live waveform visualization & buffer health monitoring
- 🔄 Auto-reconnect for Bluetooth devices
- 💾 Auto-save device profiles (volume, delay, selection)
- 🚫 Source device auto-detection (now with a clearer explanation of why — it's a genuine hardware/OS constraint, documented in-app)
📥 Download
- SyncWave.exe — Self-contained, no installation or .NET runtime required. Just download and run on Windows 10/11.
⚠️ Known limitation
Bluetooth devices have inherent hardware latency that no software can remove. If your Bluetooth device is set as Source and a wired device is secondary, you may notice persistent lag — this can't be fixed via software delay, since only secondary devices can be artificially delayed. Workaround: set your Bluetooth device as your Windows default (Source) instead, and keep wired devices as secondary — the app now includes this guidance directly in the UI.
