Aims of this project are:

1) To create a chess engine in a managed language, and share code with friends;
2) To explore different data representations for chess positions and their impact on evaluations and move generation algorithms;
3) To create a highly usable, intuitive, and stable GUI, tailored for some specific needs.

To improve our understanding of what components good chess software needs, we've built everything from the ground up. We can then compare this to already existing implementations and learn from them.
