StrongAuth, Inc.'s StrongKey
Symmetric Key Management System software
----------------------------------------

This release is a Release Candidate (Build 201) and is made available
for developers, system administrators and security administrators to
get a feel for the capabilities of the software.

It has a fully-implemented client and server module that works with
software-based cryptographic service providers (CSP) such as SunJCE,
Mozilla's NSS and Bouncy Castle.

Some hardware-based CSPs have also been qualified for the client -
notably GemPlus' smartcards. StrongAuth is busy qualifying hardware
security modules (HSM) from SafeNet and nCipher for use on the server.
It is anticipated that the Production release of StrongKey will be
around Labor Day (the first week of September 2006) with HSM support.

Information on currently supported operating systems, databases, J2EE
application servers is available at StrongKey's website.

Installation documentation is available on the StrongKey website at
www.strongkey.org. Help for the Administration GUI is integrated
into the application. Administration documentation is WIP.

Some known bugs/workarounds are:

BUG-ID	DESCRIPTION
------	----------------------------------------------------------
1	JAXB ObjectFactory.class not found.

This error is reported by the Application Server (AS), the
first time the client tries to avail services from the server.
This is a known problem and is being worked on; until then
the simple work-around is to restart the Application Server
with the StrongKey EAR already having been deployed. This
ensures that the AS sees the class in jaxb.jar.

Thank you for your interest in StrongKey. We hope it helps you in
protecting your assets. Your suggestions and feedback will help us
make this useful for many others, so please take the time to drop
us a line if you feel strongly about something in the software. We
promise you, we will read everything we get.
