A previous version of StringTuner was intended for any device that supports Java MIDP v2.0, with CLDC 1.0 Mobile Media API (MMAPI, JSR 135) MIDP used to be supported on Symbian and Blackberry phones, but no more. I have seen this version of the app running on the WTK2.5.2 emulator in Linux, and on Android under the J2ME Loader v. 1.3.1, and on a 2010 Nokia C5 Symbian phone. In the past it also ran properly on several other Symbian phones. It *ought* to run as well on Blackberry RIM—but that system is mysteriously lacking the feature of playing a short MIDI event, although the Blackberry developer documentation seems to indicate support for MMAPI. It won’t work on iPhone until they smarten up about Java.
