Good engine! Stratagus makes it possible to play an enhanced version of Warcraft II, with better speed control, match replay, intermediate points for unit paths... This "WarcraftII under Stragatus" game is called "Wargus", and it works under Windows and Linux, and there's an unofficial Symbian port available. Stratagus is also the engine behind BosWars, a game that implements some very interesting ideas regarding resource production/gathering. For academic purposes, Stratagus was used as an open-source game engine for AI research, you may take a look at "IJCAI'2005 Workshop on Reasoning, Representation, and Learning in Computer Games" :) Hint: the latest Stratagus version is hosted in Lauchpad, check it at https://launchpad.net/stratagus
