License: STL for Sketchup is released under the GNU Lesser Public Licence. Read the file LICENCE.txt for more information. Installation: Copy stl4su.rb into the Sketchup plugins directory. In Windows: Copy the file stl4su.rb to the directory: C:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins Then start Sketchup. In OS X: Copy the file stl4su.rb to one of the following directories: /Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins/ or: ~/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins/ Then start Sketchup. Usage: To import an STL file: Select the File->Import... menu item. Select 'Stereolithography File' from the format dropdown. Click on Options to change the import unit size. (millimeters, inches, etc) Click on Ok the dismiss the options window. Select the file to import. Click on the Import button. To export a model to an STL file: Select the Tools->Export to STL... menu item. Select the units to use when exporting the file. (millimeters, inches, etc.) Select whether you want to export a binary or ASCII STL file. (binary recommended) Click Ok. Specify the name of the file to export to. Click Save to export the file.
