Have been using Squirrelmail for some years now and still works fine in 2018 running on Centos 7.6.1810 (Core) very simple setup, easy to secure and integrate with Fail2ban so on.

OMG, not realy!!!!! blablabla....Mail it´s so very bad and bugy.... no setup guide.... no support... very old projekt...not working in 2018... coding is very bad simple. In our industry we spend two hours of installation of this s***ing mail solution, but this is such an incredible s*** . 11 technology workers have not managed to get this s*** working, unbelievable, unbelievable, unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!! Please stop your wokr on this s*** and going to be a Farmer or other like that. Please drop us of such bad software. Use B1GMAIL or RoundCube , spend 1 min and the Mail can start.

SquirrelMail is okay using on the web as Webmail. I downloaded it thinking it would be a good replacement for Thunderbird, but only then learned it requires a webserver, which means it can work only for the comparative few who run webservers on their own home computers. To go that route isn't gonna work for me.
