Release Notes for the SbK Debian Server 1125 release.

For a server stability matters. Some say a rolling release distro isnt suited for a server. But after running a Debian testing server for 2025s I can say the testing branch of Debian is perfect. The best part is that once installed it never needs to be wiped and rebuilt saving countless hours of work because servers tend to be very customized.

Full iso

This iso is recommended for newer Linux users. It has a lot of nice applications to make the server more functional. It also includes a desktop that can be started with startx after logging in to help accomplish tasks. The user can then exit the desktop freeing up resources when it is just serving. Everything can be changed with the package manager if you prefer something else.

Minimal iso

********* The minimal iso is not recommended for people who are new to linux. *********

The minimal iso is a bare bones install with few applications. Knowledge of what you want to install is required. That's not to say that a new linux user cant find the information. But a lot of research will need to be done to make the server easy to use.
It is meant to be a canvas that allows the user to install the applications they want and nothing more. As such you will likely have to install a lot of applications. The minimal iso boots to a command line. there is no desktop.

Thank you for trying this spin out,

Kilz
