Spell Card Generator 1.2 Readme

I get sick of paging through books looking for spells, so I wrote this application to create cards for them. The general idea is that you print them out, slip them into a sleeve with another card behind, and voila! No more flipping pages to find spells.

Requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (and possibly Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 SP1 Redistributable, depending on your .NET install -- install this if you have trouble printing)

New in 1.2:

-Character management section
-Minor UI tweaks

Originally this was just a tool to quickly print out some spells for myself, but I wanted the ability to create lists for multiple characters. So I added the ability to create character-based spell lists.

After you add a spell to a character, it becomes its own unique instance of the spell so you can further customize it by adding things like character-specific DCs or attack expressions. This also means that you want to have your master list finished and well-formatted, so you don't have to make the same tweaks multiple times.

New in 1.1:

I made a big overhaul to the application to allow for customizable game system layouts. Everything from the number of rows of boxes at the top (max 3, min 0) to what the headers are is customizable PER CARD. Also included is a game system editor, so you can set the defaults for newly added spells.

Unfortunately, I had to break backwards compatibility for saved data from the previous version. So I appologize to all 18 of you who downloaded the first version. ;)

The good news is that the data is all XML though, so if you really didn't want to start over you could probably fix things with a little copy/paste + find/replace work. The new version uses different files for each game system, and doesn't overwrite the old "spells.xml" file.

Data is stored in something resembling the following directory on Windows 7 machines:
C:\Users\[yourusername]\AppData\Roaming\SpellCards
