Release Notes
SPAT R2015b (5.0.0.620 beta) released
SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool. Developed in MATLAB (MCR required) and currently available for Windows and MacOs.
New features
- Major re-design of the GUI
- Bug reporting included within the tool
- Power budget allows the creation of prower scenarios.
- Increased speed of visibility calculation sacrifycing some accuracy.
Bugs fixed
- Fixes an issue in the orbit propagator when selecting a ground station just added
- Fixes an issue inside the battery profiler.
- Fixes an issue in the summary table when values where missing.
- Fixes a bug when plotting the generated power per panel, Z and X axis where exchanged
- Fixes some issues unreported to the user.
SPAT R2015a (4.3.0 beta) released
SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool. Developed in MATLAB (MCR required) and currently available for Windows and MacOs.
New features
- Added ground station access plot to ground section
Bugs fixed
- Upon mission value on the summary table, the remaining values were shifted
- The plots of power on Z and X axes panels were exchanged between + and -
SPAT R2015a (4.2.0 beta) released
SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool. Developed in MATLAB (MCR required) and currently available for Windows and MacOs.
New features
- Added to the unit profile, a label to show the average power consumed by the satellite
- Added to the unit profile a new button that allows plotting the power profile consumption table
- In the main windows, a new button added that presents summary table with the most important results of the analysis
Bugs fixed
- Minor fixes to the default values
- Exit button removed because closing now triggers the same callback Exit did
- The link budget dialog was not recovering the modulation scheme
- The 'plot ground track' in 'mission ground track' was plotting the local time in the legend instead of GMT.
SPAT R2015a (4.1.1 beta) released
SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool. Developed in MATLAB (MCR required) and currently available for Windows and MacOs.
New features
- Added a ground track prediction for the satellite mission that is being designed
- Added a field to include the name of the satellite
- Passages reports also include the average passage over the configure time of propagation
- Passages reports also include info about the elevation and min, max passage duration
- Added to the orbit propagator tool the ability to select ground stations and to plot the elevation of the passages
- Added to the link budget the 'compute' button that calculates and shows the link budget table
- Battery configuration dialogs changed
Bugs fixed
- The ground station min elevation angle is removed as it is not used during the ground track calculations
- The passages report was not printing correctly the pass duration when above 1h
- Ground tracking of the mission (not TLE-based) was not computing the passages hours correctly as LTAN was not taken into account
SPAT 4.0.1 (beta) released
SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool. Developed in MATLAB (MCR required) and currently available for Windows and MacOs.
New features
- Link budget is now calculated for the worst case, apogee and 0 to 90 degrees elevation
Bugs fixed
- Link budget was not working when changed to SGP4 propagator.
- The mission configuration had satellite altitude as orbit input parameter instead of semi-major-axis.
- When the user cancelled some actions (e.g. directory selection) the error was not handled properly
- Passages were not properly calculated for non circular orbits.
- As we changed the ground tracking functions, the link budget was left with a bug calling a non-existing function
SPAT 4.0.0 (beta) released
SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool. Developed in MATLAB (MCR required) and currently available for Windows and MacOs.
New features
- Ground track and ground visibility is now based on TLE files.
- TLE files are downloaded/upgraded automatically
- Some GUI elements moved to more convinient places
Bugs fixed
- ground track and passages are now based on SPG4 propagator and TLE information
SPAT 3.0.6 (beta) released
SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool. Developed in MATLAB (MCR required) and currently available for Windows and MacOs.
New features
- Windows and MacOS packages include readme.txt with some info about the installation of MATLAB MCR
- Windows app is distributed as auto-exe package
- MacOS package contains a script run_SPAT.sh that sets up the MCR environment. This is auto-generated from MATLAB
Bugs fixed:
- Passage time calculation was off due to wrong earth radius
SPAT 3.0.5 (beta) released
SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool. Developed in MATLAB (MCR required) and currently available for Windows and MacOs.
New features
- SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool.
Bugs fixed:
- Ground track was not working for all satellite inclination angles.
SPAT 3.0.3 (beta) released
SPAT is a satellite power and mission design/analysis tool. Developed in MATLAB (MCR required) and currently available for Windows and MacOs.
