Here a test with two 74HC165 cascading  for add 16 inputs to arduino.
For Testing 74HC165 cascading with arduino:
Put the file Test_cascade_74HC165.simu and  Test_cascade_74HC165.ino and  Test_cascade_74HC165.ino.hex 
where you want in a folder "74HC165_cascading" for example.

Open the file Test_cascade_74HC165.simu.
