SolitaireCG Testing Directory

This directory contains test builds (debug APK files) of SolitaireCG only.

These builds are not official releases and are not officially supported.

Purpose

The debug APK files are intended to make it easier to download and test interim releases of SolitaireCG. The end goal is to assist with debugging and resolving issues so that we can improve SolitaireCG for everyone.

APK is the package file format used by the Android operating system for distribution and installation of applications.

Installation Steps

The steps to install a debug APK file on a device running Android are as follows:

1. Ensure that install from Unknown sources is allowed.

   • Press the menu icon or button from the Home screen
   • Tap Settings
   • Select Security (Android OS 4.0+) or Applications (Android OS 3.0 and earlier)
   • Scroll to Unknown Sources and enable setting

2. Delete the existing SolitaireCG application from Android.

   • Press the menu icon or button from the Home screen
   • Tap Settings
   • Tap Apps or Applications
   • Swipe to Downloaded tab
   • Find and tap SolitaireCG
   • Tap *Uninstall" button

   Deleting the existing SolitaireCG app is required because the debug APK is signed with a debug key, and not the official release key signature. Android prevents installation of APK files if the signatures are different.

3. Download a debug APK file from this directory/web page.

4. Open the Downloads application and tap on the debug APK file to begin installation.

5. Test SolitaireCG to see if the issue has been resolved.

Note that the debug APK file will need to be deleted before you can install the SolitaireCG application from other sources such as F-Droid or Amazon.
