SmartOS 2.0 Quantum is an author-owned open-source operating system based on Linux Mint.
The project is developed by the SmartOS Project as an independent Linux distribution with a focus on simplicity, performance, and a clean modern design.
SmartOS is designed as an educational and experimental OS, providing a stable base with custom system tweaks and future smart features. While the source code is open, authorship and project identity remain with the SmartOS Project.
The system is distributed as an ISO image and is currently under active development.
