Stripped-down version of man-db that includes a script
(makewhatis-ng) that uses man-db's engine to create a
traditional whatis db Slackware's apropos/whatis can use.
The installation process is very complicated:
$ sh get-source.sh
$ sh man-db-lite.SlackBuild
$ installpkg /tmp/man-db-lite-2.7.0.2-i486-1_mancha.txz (or
installpkg /tmp/man-db-lite-2.7.0.2-x86_64-1_mancha.txz)
After install, re-create your whatis db using man-db's
parser:
# makewhatis-ng
--mancha
