When I use PhoneGap and Cordovo I feel they are very good and useful products. I also feel they are unnecessarily complicated to use for small projects. It's not that I cannot use them, its just: why should I install node, npm, cordova etc when all I want is a shell project for Android/iOS with a webbrowser in it?

The SimpleGap Project aims to make Cordova easier to use by providing already built shell projects that the user can just download and fill with their own html code, without having to generate the shell projects themselves

This is most likely not the optimal solutions for all Cordova projects, specially not big and advanced ones that uses a lot of Cordovas features. But for small projects and for easily getting started it is very nice and practical.
