Simple Cipher Decoder Files

To install go into the folder of the deciphering program you want to install and run the set up program

This is a series of programs that are designed to aid the process of cracking a few relatively simple ciphers.  The simplest of these is the ceasar shift which the program should be able to automatically solve once the source text is inputted.  Moving up there are substitution and transposition ciphers which rely much more on the user to solve themselves.  What the programs will do in this case is speed up the process considerably by automatically altering the text, based on the conditions the user sets, rather than having rather than having to change all of the data manually.  The final cipher which can be cracked is the vigenere cipher.  This is the complicated of them and is a good mix of computer automation and user input.  The program will find gaps between letter pairs, perform frequncy analyses and convert using caeser shifts in the end.  The user will have to input the letters of the keyword and the keyword length.


Downloading

Problem				Posible reason							Solution

Unable to access the website	Not connected to the internet.					Plug in your ethernet cable or connet to a wireless network.
				The website is down						Try again at a later point.

Error when downloading file	You may not have permission to download files.			Try and run the download againg using administrator rights.
				Your internet browser may be blocking the download.		Check the download settings on your web browser.
				You may have run out of hard drive space.			Delete something from your hard drive.  You will need at least 1MB of space to download the file.

General

Problem				Posible reason							Solution

Cannot install			You do not have the correct permissions to install programs.	Run the installation program as an administrator.
				You do not have enough space to install the programs.		Free up some space on your hard drive. You will need at least 1MB of hard drive spacxe available.
 
Cannot run or runs slowly	You may not meet the minimun requirements to run. 		Check the requirements specification and if your computer does not meet them then you will not be able to run the program unless you upgrade your computer.
				You may be running out of RAM.					Close down some other open programs and try again.
