como usar a versão 3D: salve e descompacte o arquivo SN-0.4.1.zip em qualquer pasta, e então execute sn3d.exe. Selecione o driver de vídeo digitando uma letra de a até f, de acordo com o menu na tela (qualquer outra letra sai do programa), e em seguida Enter (c seleciona o driver OpenGL, que funciona na maioria dos sistemas). Levará de poucos a muitos segundos para carregar. Se algo der errado, os minutos passarem e nada acontecer, pode ser...

    * a) o driver que você selecionou não funciona com este programa no computador escolhido. Termine o processo (ou o feche teclando Alt+F4) e tente usar outro driver. Se nenhum driver funcionar (eu nem sei para que serve a opção f), então pule para o próximo item
    * b) a memória da sua placa de vídeo é muito pequena para o país que você está tentando ver (o Brasil geralmente não aparece de primeira na maioria dos laptops - pelo menos no Brasil!): reduza o mapa (o arquivo padrão é a imagem em <install_folder>\data\BR.png - um mapa de vegetação do Brasil. Leia no item e como mudar o país) em 50% de altura e 50% de largura (abra a imagem [BR.png] no Paint, selecione o menu Imagem|Esticar/inclinar... e em Esticar substitua os dois 100% por 50%), mas lembre-se de fazer uma cópia antes. Com a cópia feita, basta salvar o arquivo modificado e tentar rodar novamente sn3d.exe. Se ele roda, mas mostra um quadrado branco flutuando entre nuvens que passam, sinta-se feliz, pois é a parte mais fácil de resolver. Apenas reduza seu mapa novamente e rode sn3d.exe outra vez, e assim por diante, até que cedo ou tarde ele mostrará o mapa em 3 dimensões (em muitos laptops eu precisei reduzir o mapa do Brasil de 4392x4370 pixels para 549x547 e até mesmo 275x274. Sim, ainda está beeeem pesado!!)
    * c) você não tem o driver DirectX ou OpenGL instalado, ou ambos: certifique-se de que os tem instalados; se não, instale-os e tente o item a novamente (pelo menos para os drivers instalados)
    * d) tente outra configuração. Vá para o prompt do DOS e use aqueles parâmetros antigos porém maravilhosos:

sn3d -?
Você deve ver uma lista de comandos. Tente:

sn3d -m -os
para rodar sem mostrar o menu (-m, poupa o processador de algum trabalho), usando menos cores e precisão (-os, optimizar para maior velocidade, economiza memória e reduz o trabalho do processador). Nada ainda? Tente...

    * e) outro país. No prompt do DOS, digite:

sn3d -m -os --XX
onde XX é o código FIPS de duas letras do país.

    * f) a placa de vídeo é estranha para mim e/ou Ogre: eu acho que você terá que me mandar um e-mail
    * g) algum defeito estranho e desconhecido. Me desculpe, mas não posso ajudá-lo agora. Procure outro computador e tente tudo de novo!
    * h) outra coisa que pode acontecer é você aparecer por baixo do país selecionado. Se isto acontecer e você ainda conseguir ver o cenário, use o mouse para olhar para cima, use a tecla "acima" do teclado para se mover adiante, para o alto. Então use o mouse novamente para olhar para baixo e ao redor. Isto ocorre porque o programa não consegue desenhar o solo do país a partir de baixo... (gráficos 3d representam objetos sólidos, por isso não mostram superfícies vistas pelo lado de dentro, pois isso seria fisicamente inviável - você não poderia estar dentro de uma parede, uma montanha ou qualquer objeto sólido)

se der certo, o comando -fs (sn3d -fs -m -os --XX) coloca o programa em tela cheia. Para sair, Alt+F4. Para mudar de país, use a tecla Tab, comece a escrever o nome do país desejado. Para mudar o foco do nome para a lista de países, tecle Enter; navegue a lista com as teclas "acima" e "abaixo" e Enter de novo para finalmente confirmar o país.

usage of 3d version: unzip SN-0.4.1.zip to any folder, then run sn3d.exe. Select the driver by hitting a key between a and f according to the menu on the screen and then pressing Enter (c selects OpenGL, which will work on most systems). It will take some to many seconds to start. If something goes wrong, minutes pass and nothing happens, it can be:

    * a) the driver you selected doesn't work with my program in your computer. Kill the process (or close it by pressing Alt+F4) and try another driver. If no driver from a to f works (I don't even know what the f option is for), then step to next item
    * b) the memory of your video card is too small for the country you're trying to see (Brazil usually doesn't show up in most laptops - at least in Brazil!): reduce your country map (default is <install_folder>\data\BR.png - a vegetation map of Brazil. Read in item e how to change the country) 50% height/50% width (in Paint: Image|Stretch/Skew... and in Stretch substitute both 100% with 50%), but remember to make a backup before save! Then just save (with the same name). Try running sn3d.exe again. If it runs, but shows a white square floating among moving clouds, feel happy, because it's the easiest to solve. Just keep on reducing your country's map 50% height/width and trying again, and so forth, until it shows up sooner or later (in many laptops I have to reduce Brazil from 4392x4370 to 549x547 and even to 275x274. Yeah, it's still very heavy!!)
    * c) you don't have DirectX or OpenGL installed, or both: certify you have them installed; if not, install and try item a again (at least for the installed driver)
    * d) try another configuration. Go to DOS prompt :) and use that outdated but marvelous parameters:

sn3d -?
You'll be shown a list of commands. Try:

sn3d -m -os
to run without showing the menu (-m, saves processing power), using less colors and precision (-os, optimize for speed, saves memory and processing power). Nothing yet? Try...

    * e) use another country. In the same DOS prompt:

sn3d -m -os --XX
where XX is the country's two letter FIPS code).

    * f) the graphic card is strange to me and/or Ogre: I guess you'll have to e-mail me
    * g) some strange and unknown bug, I'm sorry, but can't help you now. Go find another computer and try it all again!
    * h) other bug is that you can appear below the selected country. If this happens and you can still see the scenery, use the mouse to look up, use key "up" in the keyboard to move forward, up. Then use the mouse again to look below you and around you. It happens because the program cannot draw the country's soil from below (3d graphics represent solid objects, thus the surfaces seen from within are not shown, because that would be physically impossible - you could never be inside a wall, a mountain or any solid object)

if it works, the command -fs (sn3d -fs -m -os --XX) changes the program to full-screen. To quit, Alt+F4. To change country, use Tab, start typing the name of desired country. To change focus from the name to the countries' list, hit Enter; browse the list with up and down on keyboard, then Enter again to finally confirm the country.
