What's Changed

This is a patch release to fix a long-standing bug whereas we would eagerly reallocate memory even when it is not needed. The fix will be part of the next major release (5), but it seems worthwhile to release a patch for version 4 as this can lower performance unnecessarily under some realistic conditions.
