This directory contains several small programs which can be built
with libxaw3xft (version 1.6.2d from January 2, 2015).
They are based on the corresponding programs that were to be compiled with
the original Xaw/Xaw3d widgets, with the small ad hoc modifications
needed to take profit from the enhancements of libXaw3dxft. In this
way, older programs can be given a modern look and feel, and can be
made to use the freetype library (antaliased fonts) and UTF8 input.
Only very little modification in the original code is needed,
essentially just setting a few additional parameters from libXaw3dxft.
- xtide is David Flater's tide prediction program
apply the enclosed patch to xtide-2.14 to compile it with the
newer version 1.6.2d of libxaw3dxft
- xlupe is a simple (but very efficient) interactive magnifier for X11
- xless-xft is an updated version of the good old xless pager
- xdiary is a small diary/calendar program.
It can save your agenda (personal data) as text files, print month
and year calendars - optionally with the moon phase. Useful if you
are an "emacs like" person and feel good with handling text files.
- xdu-xft is an enhanced version of Phil Dykstra's xdu program,
a X11 frontend to the standard 'du' (disk usage) utility. It shows
a colorful image of any directory located on your file systems.
In addition to standard xdu, xdu-xft offers color, truetype fonts,
UTF8 input, external call of a (user definable) file browser, plus
an informative bottom line (it has also been enhanced to report
correctly directory size information for huge TByte volumes...)
- xdvik-22.87.patch.bz2
is a patch against the current xdvik package "xdvik-22.87.tar.gz"
from http://sourceforge.net/projects/xdvi/files/xdvik/22.87/,
that produces an improved version of xdvik.
To compile this stuff, apply the patch
and compile the resulting package with the script
`sh build-xdvi-enhanced`
Then install texk/xdvik/xdvi-bin as /usr/bin/xdvi-xaw3dxft
and try it with the enclosed script 'xdvi-enhanced'
- gv-xft.patch
is a small patch against the current version gv-3.7.4 of gv
(ghostscript viewer), allowing it to be compiled with libxaw3dxft
In addition to this patch, gv-xft_3.7.4-1.debian.tar.bz2 can be used
to produce a debian package.
- xfig-xft.patch
is a small patch against the current version xfig-3.2.5.c of xfig
allowing it to be compiled with libxaw3dxft
In addition to this patch, xfig-xft_3.2.5.c-1.debian.tar.bz2 can be used
to produce a debian package.
