SerialToIP is a simple Terminal Server software providing transparent pipe either in TCP server or TCP client socket mode from TCP/IP to a pre-configured serial port. Implemented in C# for .NET 2.0 so the command line version could work in Mono-runtime as well.

  • Bless you. You saved me this source is so delicately written.
  • very simple and useful.
  • This program provided transparent access over ethernet network to a serial based PLC connected to a PC. I did attempt using several other serial-to-net programs but without success (until I found this program). Certainly a way to bring ANY serial based PLC to ethernet network. For those who would like details of the experiment just go to AdvancedHMI forum and look for topic named "Raspberry Pi as Serial to Ethernet adapter" in Tips & Tricks category.
  • SerialToIPGUI is great. I use it on W7pro 64bit to connect a socket client application to a COM port. The application requires transparent interface (not emulation) and normally interfaces via a USR-232 or similar server device. The COM port is either on a local (127.0.0.1) or remote PC. The program is simple to configure and run, does exactly as it says without problems. Thanks.
  • It would help if the source files were all zipped into a single file.
