Added
- Help > Connect an AI tool (while AI features are on): an "I have a subscription" picker (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, other tools) and, for this install, the exact command or configuration for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex CLI, Antigravity CLI, Gemini CLI, Grok Build, Cursor, VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains AI Assistant, Zed, Windsurf (Devin Local), GitHub Copilot CLI, Cline, Continue, Kiro, Amazon Q Developer CLI, Warp, Goose, opencode, Rovo Dev CLI, LM Studio, Jan and the OpenAI Agents SDK, each checked against the vendor's documentation, with Copy buttons. Remote-only apps (the ChatGPT and Grok apps, Rovo on the web) are named as such: SculptForge runs no network server.
- A Claude Desktop bundle (
SculptForge-*.mcpb) for Windows, macOS and Linux on every release, andserver.jsonfor the official MCP registry. - The MCP server (
sculptforge-cli --mcp) gainsviewport_image(a clay-shaded picture of the scene from any angle, to check each step) and recipes as MCP prompts: a creature head, a stylised bust from a reference image, a game-ready asset (retopology, UVs, bake, LODs), rock variations and a step-by-step lesson. Its server info carries a title and clearer instructions. - AppImage:
SculptForge.AppImage --cli ...runs the command-line tool inside it (so MCP clients can start it). - Guide (Scripting > AI agents): every client's setup, your own agent, and plain function calling with
sculptforge-cli --schemafor the OpenAI, Gemini and xAI APIs. - Freeze Levels (
subdiv_freeze,dyntopo freeze_levels=true): turning on Dynamic on a Part with subdivision levels offers to keep the level shown as one plain mesh and turn Dynamic on, one undo step, instead of a dead-end message. The Draw palette shows the same button while Dynamic waits on levels. - View > Views: Front, Back, Left, Right, Top and Bottom buttons (Numpad 1 / 3 / 7, Ctrl for the opposite side, in every input style), and named saved views: Save View (Ctrl+Alt+Numpad 0), click a name to go back, Numpad 0 for the last one. Saved with the project.
- Mask darkness (Preferences > Interface and Tool > Masking).
Changed
- The app icon is the orange SF mark (as on sculptforge.app) in the task bar, Dock, Start menu, launchers and the title bar; the bust stays as the illustration in Help > About, What's New and the membership card.
- Masked areas show as a cool dark tint with a soft edge instead of near-black, so the form stays readable.
- The wireframe fades edges shorter than a few pixels: a dense mesh shows a light veil, not a dark moire.
- Options that are on (toggles) have an accent-tinted fill in every colour scheme, not just a lighter grey.
- Quad Remesh guide curves draw smooth, with stroke smoothing while drawing and a dark outline for contrast.
- Tool > Geometry (from Discord): Divide (keeps levels) and Subdivide (removes levels) are named for what they do and sit apart: Micro in its own Micro Detail group, Subdivide under Change the Mesh (no levels). On a Part with levels, Subdivide asks first ("This removes your N subdivision levels"), with Don't ask again; Delete Lower and Delete Higher ask too (Ctrl+Z still brings the levels back).
- Tool > Parts > Extract says to mask first when there's no mask, instead of only greying out its buttons.
Fixed
- Quick Remesh and Tool > Remesh > Voxel Remesh of an open Part (the Stylised Head starter, open at the neck, especially after a Move pull near the neck) gave a thin shell full of holes: the outside flowed in through the opening. Open borders are now capped before the voxels are made (only for the remesh; the Part's own surface is not touched), and a Part that still isn't a closed solid (borders that can't be capped) is left unchanged with a message pointing to Tool > Geometry > Close Holes, instead of a broken result.
- UV Editor at UI scale 2.4 (a 4K screen): the On model: Colours / Checker row was cut off and Frame was drawn over it, so clicking Frame toggled Colours. The toolbar now measures each control (in the interface language) and wraps onto more lines when it needs to; every control is where it is drawn.
- UV Editor: the "No UVs yet: pick a method and Unwrap" hint was cut off on both sides in a narrow view or at a big UI scale (240 %); it now wraps inside the view, and it is translated.
