Added
- Preferences > Tablet > Mouse mode (relative) (#54): for tablets whose driver is set to mouse mode, the pen moves the cursor by how far it moves, like a mouse.
- Alternate smooth (#40, as in ZBrush): start a stroke with Shift held, then let go of Shift while still pressing, and the rest of the stroke smooths without shrinking the form (a Taubin smooth). Brush > Smooth keeps volume makes that the Shift / Smooth brush smooth (letting go of Shift then switches to the plain one).
- Ctrl+drag on the background with MaskPen draws a mask rectangle while dragging (#48) and masks what it covers; one that covers none of the model clears the mask, as before (and as in ZBrush, without DynaMesh's remesh).
- Axis gizmo (#43): click an end of the X / Y / Z gizmo in the canvas corner to snap to that side view (orthographic), as in Blender; the negative ends are drawn too and the end under the pointer is ringed.
- Undo and Redo on the right shelf (#43); stored layouts get them at the top once (layout version 3).
- Continuous is also in the left shelf's stroke picker, under the stroke tiles (#43).
- Insert on the model respects X / Y / Z symmetry (#43): a mirrored copy on the other side, one undo step
(
insert_primitive symmetry=x). -
SubTool thumbnails in the SubTool list (#43), drawn from each SubTool's existing GPU buffers (no upload, the motion proxy on dense meshes), one per frame at most and only once a change has settled, never during a stroke.

Ways to support SculptForge (memberships on the website; the app stays free and behaves the same for everyone). Each one only opens https://sculptforge.app/donate.html in the browser: Help > Support SculptForge..., a line in the first-run welcome (new: a small note on the very first start, also Help > Welcome in the command palette), a line at the end of What's New, and a Supporters section in Help > About listing the names in
docs/supporters.txt, compiled in and shown as plain text (control and invisible formatting characters removed, 40 characters and 2000 names at most). After about ten hours of sculpting (counted locally in project.json) one dismissible note shows along the bottom of the canvas, never at launch and never again. No payment code, network calls, tracking or licence checks.
Changed
- The Mask display toggle (right shelf, Ctrl+H) says in its help and the status bar that a hidden mask still masks (#43).
Fixed
- Pen tablets in mouse (relative) mode (#54): lifting the pen and putting it down elsewhere made the cursor jump back to where the pen was on the tablet. Turn on Preferences > Tablet > Mouse mode.
- MaskLasso and MaskRect ignored symmetry (#51): the mirror image of the shape is masked too now, as with mask strokes. A Ctrl+click on the model with MaskLasso or MaskRect blurs the mask (Ctrl+Alt+click sharpens it), as with MaskPen; it did nothing. A lasso or rectangle that covers none of the model clears the mask.
- macOS (#41): reopening in full screen (restored from the last session, [#35]) left the menu bar and window buttons unreachable until another display was clicked; full screen is now entered after the window is on screen.
