Highlights

This is a maintenance patch release following v1.8.0. It refreshes the runtime and development dependency tree and polishes project documentation. There are no functional, user-facing, or breaking changes — upgrading is safe and seamless.

Codename: Maleo Senkawor — Honoring Macrocephalon maleo, the critically endangered megapode endemic to Sulawesi, Indonesia.

• composer audit reports no known vulnerabilities in the dependency tree.

Performance

No changes — the performance optimizations introduced in v1.8.0 (settings cache, Db statement cache, single-pass prefix regex, theme caller memoization) remain in effect.

Upgrade Notes

A simple drop-in replacement. No configuration, database, or template changes are required:

Known Issues

• Three dependency packages remain flagged as abandoned upstream (laminas/laminas-crypt, laminas/laminas-math, sinergi/browser-detector). They are carried intentionally for PHP 7.4 compatibility and are not affected by this release. No action is required from users.

Verification: 2,527 unit tests passing (4,548 assertions) · CI on main green · working tree clean.
