What's new
- Background recording now has dedicated start/stop buttons, live session status and elapsed time, and unique automatic filenames. Existing file-based profiles and supported recording containers remain compatible.
- macOS supports screenshot and device-control shortcuts while the Scrcpy GUI main window is focused. Shortcuts do not intercept input in other apps or the separate mirror window.
- Open an APK from Finder, choose an authorized Android device, and confirm installation. Cancel is the default; replacing an existing app requires a separate checkbox. Cold-start handling waits for the configured runtime.
Security and fixes
- Scope the new device shortcuts to the focused trusted app window; bound pending APK opens and stop accepting work during shutdown.
- Repair inherited macOS Electron signatures with explicit ad-hoc signing and verify packaged application signatures before publishing. These builds remain unnotarized.
- Improve bug-report forms and update Vue and related dependencies already merged since v2.4.5.
- Update Electron to 43.8.3, Vite to 7.3.7, Vitest/mocker to 4.1.12, and affected transitive dependencies; the final dependency audit reports 0 vulnerabilities.
Verification and downloads
- 226 automated tests, type checks, production builds, and generated-icon checks passed locally. Three-platform CI and release packaging provide the platform-specific validation.
- Download the package for your OS and architecture. Verify it against
SHA256SUMS.txt; the release also includes an SPDX SBOM and GitHub build-provenance attestations. - Physical-device recording/installation and interactive Finder/shortcut behavior were not manually verified on hardware during this review. See release verification details.
