What’s fixed

  • Large 7z files no longer freeze Explorer. On large archives—especially on network shares—SageThumbs now stops before expensive directory parsing or deep decompression. Smaller supported archives use buffered reads, one decompression CPU thread, and a strict 8 MiB image-data budget.
  • Only one screenshot helper now runs. The separate screenshot watchdog has been removed. The remaining helper restores hotkeys after sleep, lock/unlock, Remote Desktop changes, or a restart.
  • Hold Shift to snap screenshot lines and arrows. Annotations snap to the nearest 45° angle while drawing, with the preview and final line matching exactly.
  • Screenshot capture is more polished. Tool-aware cursors, clearer on-screen guidance, layered Escape behavior, and Ctrl+Shift+Z redo make editing less fussy.
  • Archive previews use bounded memory. Contact sheets shrink each image immediately instead of retaining multiple full-resolution images.

Verification

This build passed the Windows CI build, tests, Clippy, dependency checks, and release-artifact scan before publication.
