A. SOFTWARE
---------------------------------------
'SafeConc' is an open-source project designed to help students, researchers or any other person or organisation concerned with designing or study of mass-concrete structures. It has been developed in JAVA programming language. Main purpose of this program is to find temperature variations in a cement concrete body during its early age and calculate stresses associated with it. This allows users to find out the temperature distribution, strength development, thermal stresses and risk of cracking in the body.
It is based on an semi-empirical hydration model. It also uses finite element method to distribute heat and stresses. Strength is calculated on the basis of strength-porosity relationships. This program is very flexible and accounts for chemical composition of cement, water-cement ratio, fineness, size of the body, etc.
New models can also be tested by replacing the hydration class in the source with a new class with same structure (read javadoc for more details).

B. LICENSE
----------------------------------------
'SafeConc' is licensed under GNU-GPL version 3. The copy of the license is available inside the source package and in the root folder of the 'files' section in a file named 'COPYING.txt'. Please read all the terms before using, copying or distributing the program.

C. DISCLAIMER
----------------------------------------
While it is hoped that this program helps its user in analysing heat release in concrete in any way it can, yet no claims are made of any sort. Users are advised to use the software on their own risk. The author will not be liable for any failed structures or broken computers.
