RMMZit 0.3.4 — your own software library, Chocolatey, and reliable uninstalling.
New
- Software library (Software in the menu): upload your own installers (MSI or EXE, up to 2 GB) with the arguments for a silent installation and the exit codes that mean success, and install them on many Windows devices at once. It runs as a job: online devices install at once, offline ones when they connect within 24 hours; the job page shows the result of every device with the end of the Windows Installer log. The agent downloads the installer from the server's agent port and checks it against the SHA-256 in the signed command before it runs it.
- Chocolatey as an optional second source next to winget (Software → Public sources): search and install from its community repository, and see and install Chocolatey updates. The Chocolatey client is installed on a device through winget the first time it is needed.
- Installed programs: the Installed tab now lists every program in the Windows list of installed programs (machine-wide and per signed-in user), with a filter, not only the ones winget knows.
Fixed
- Uninstall reported success while nothing was removed for some programs (for example Winamp): winget started their uninstaller without its silent switch, so it waited for a click that nobody could see. RMMZit now picks the silent way itself (Windows Installer, Inno Setup, NSIS or the program's own silent command) and reports success only when the program is really gone.
- Microsoft Defender definitions could not be installed from the console ("0 installed, 0 failed"): every definition version has its own update ID and comes out several times a day, so the one found by the last search was usually gone. The agent now installs the definition version Windows Update offers at that moment.
- The Save button on Settings → Network and access touched the box below it.
Updating
Settings → RMMZit updates installs 0.3.4 from GitHub. Agents update themselves (Settings → Agent updates).
