Description

RhinoLINUX KDE Edition is a member of the RhinoLINUX family of Operating Systems. Incorporating the same kernel as the Main Edition but using the K Desktop Environment and Plasma workspace as Graphical User Interface/Window Manager. This edition uses KDE-specific apps in the application suites as well ie KMail and Kaffeine as examples.
This release is compatible with Ubuntu's 'saucy' software library and is called "Saucy Suzie".
The KDE Edition uses a KDE 4.11.2 Desktop Environment & Plasma Workplace Shell.
A similar set of applications have been used as in the Main Edition as much as possible, only substituting a native KDE app if rhis is available.
Internet apps include Firefox Web browser and TeamViewer 9 for remote access/assistance.
Libre Office 4.x with enhanced MS Office compatibility is the main Office suite.
A comprehensive set of media converters and transcoders as well as authoring tools are included.
There is a program group called RhinoLINUX, for customized tools.
