WHAT IS RESOLVER?

Resolver is a general purpose high precision conversion utility for Java which
was ported from my C++ Geodesica-SFX utility window.

History. The program began as a HyperCard stack back 1994 to aid my research in
sacred geometry. More interested in Dozenal than Decimal, I used Imperial inches
as a touchstone to the ancient canon of measures. The program has now evolved to
handle a plethora of other units, such as:

Pixels, Points (DTP), Points (HMT), Pica-Ems (DTP), Pica-Ems (HMT), Fermi,
Ångströms, Microns, Millimeters, Centimeters, Meters, Kilometers, Hectares,
Astronomical Units, Light Years, Parsecs, Microinches, Mils, Lines, Inches,
Palms, Hands, Feet, Yards, Cables, Furlongs, Rods, Roods, Gunter's Chains,
Gunter's Links, Modern Chains, Modern Links, Quarter Acres, Half Acres,
Whole Acres, Hides, Miles, Land Leagues, Fathoms, US Nautical Miles,
US Nautical Leagues, UK Nautical Miles, UK Nautical Leagues, Admiralty Miles,
Admiralty Leagues, User Units, Digits, Standard Cubits, Bible Cubits,
Royal Cubits, Palestinian Cubits, Sacred Cubits, Greek Cubits, Sumerian Feet,

Additionally, the program converts both square and circular areas for all units.


QUICK START

  ●  Windows
     Just double click the 'Resolver.bat' file in Resolver's main directory.
  
  ●  Linux and Others
     To run the jar file as a standalone executable when not using Netbeans, you
     must open a console in Resolver's main installation directory, and use the
     following command line:

     java -jar "./dist/Resolver.jar"

  ●  IMPORTANT: If Resolver is not launched from within the installation directory,
     the program will fail to locate its Data directory, and icons will be missing
     from the menus.

  ●  Precursory html documentation is provided in the Documetation folder.
     Just open the index file in your browser. There you will also find the
     release notes and build instructions.
