  • Generally I feel one area where Linux is very very weak is back up tools. I have found none terribly friendly, well designed or easy to use. On paper this looked like a good option but it quickly left a ho hum impression on me. Booting from USB it failed to pick up my external LCD leaving me wondering what was going on. Once I'd gotten past the confusion and opened setting for the external monitor things did work. That said, I did not find its options for backing up especially intuitive, flexible or easy to use. For what its worth RR it not awful but I for one did not see any advantage over say, Timeshift , which also has room for improvement.
  • Me encanta. Facil y Rapido. --------------------------------- No me conecta a la wifi con contraseña WPA2 El tactil no me funciona.
  • For individual file access and backup I would recommend a better file manager for greater ease of use. Mounting and accessing specific drives requires a more advanced user knowledge.
  • 1. If you're trying to create USB Multiboot, you should rename (initrd, vmlinuz, filesystem.squashfs) into lowercase letters. 2. Redo isn't checking when a source and destination are the same. Be careful, your partition table can be easily corrupted.
  • Cannot open the USB disk when use Ventoy in UEFI mode, but still best.
  • Excellent. More than just what I wanted
  • Top ! J'ai réussi a faire un backup de macOS Big Sur en img. La restauration est rapide et le disk est bootable ! indispensable pour moi car CCC et super duper arrivent a cloner disk to disk mais pas image to disk.
  • How do I find out my password and password?

  • After years of silence, rhis new release is perfect! Quick, easy, effective. The backup function creates a .img compressed file in few minutes, that you can restore... in few minutes. Consider that my Debian on a 10 yo PC is about 8,6 Gb. The image was created on an external HD in less than 3 minutes and its size is 2.9 Gb! So, like Partclone in Clonezilla, you don't have to use the whole space but in a easier way, especially for newbies. I've been using Clonezilla for many years but Redo is even better in many ways. I haven't yet tried the other features to backup data but I'm sure they work like the system backup feature does. GUI is good (minimal and VERY easy to understand) and I like the additional tools in the menu (e.g. Gparted). Good job! I hope Redo will be developed and updated in the future.
  • The long-awaited version 2.0 has been released with many bug fixes and tons of new and requested features
  • Very Good and Effective. Best tool for real backup. I've been using this extraordinary piece of Software a long time, I had to use the Restore function Twice and it really worked very Well.
  • Simple yet effective. This is an older system image backup solution, which could be bad for newer computers but has worked great for me because some of my equipment software runs on very old versions of Linux . Newer versions of Clonezilla and Ubuntu-based live CD's have problems with AHCI power management on these computers, e.g. HP xw4300 Didn't find my SAMBA network share automatically via name resolution but a-okay when give the IP number. Linux Kernel Version: 3.2 GPARTED Version, 0.11

  • This is the easiest backup software I have used.
  • I tried using the latest Redo Backup but it has a major bug. It freezes during the restore process and it's unusable. Good otherwise.

Thanks for your input! At the time of your review, the latest release was 1.0.4. Please try version 2.0.4 as we've added many improvements and fixes.
  • "Bare metal" as it says, thus reliable and easy to use. Pity that it does not come with updated partitioning and file management tools (and keyboard layout selection).
  • simple and easy user interface
  • Hi. Project is super helpful. I use Redo since 5 y but... Redo need UPDATE. - Image needs update wpa_supplicant because it;s not possible to connect wifi with WPA2 password. - Disk locks up after use "Drive Reset". It's set hardware password to hd but don't know what. - Redo app need to add backup verification ex. md5, sha1.
  • I have problems using redo on my Dell Inspiron 7000Series, I start from the usb or cd software (I downloaded the new livecd) the program seems to start but then you charge me for the ubuntu prompt without opening the GUI. How do I proceed? Thank you
  • Perfect simple software. But only in english. No translations available. And keyboard layout just in english too. Additionally there could be some features like saving&restoring single partitions to different partitions or restoring backups to drives with bigger size ... But for simple backup/restore Jobs of partitions it is great.
  • I have to say, when booting into Redo, it's really nice. You get an easy wizard to configure the backup, and while you're waiting for it to finish you can browse the net, use the file manager, etc. It looks really nice too. Unfortunately, this was last updated in 2012, and it seems that the devs have given up on it. Note what people have said below; the forums are littered with people having restoration problems and there are no solutions. Seems I'll be moving over to Clonezilla. RIP Redo.

A lot has changed since version 1.0.4! Try version 2.0.4. You'll like it a lot more than Clonezilla!
  • What else is there to say? Not a thing! This program just simply works! And it is free! What else could a person need? Great work developers! 5 STARS!!!
  • I know there are complicated backup tools available that have more features and capability; but they are difficult to learn to use. I love ReDo cause is works and it doesn't require an huge investment of time learning the idiosyncrasies of a particular backup suite. Maybe I can figure out Bacula someday, but wow the documentation is so horrible! - I'm so glad ReDo works for me for now.
  • This program is VERY easy to use, but lacks the ability to restore to smaller drives, the ability to easily restore a selected partition, and several other features. The support is pretty bad. I asked a simple question in march and they still have not answered it.

  • Easy to use. I've used this software on multiple OS with multiple clients without fail works every time.
  • I tried it to backup my Windows XP. It worked flawlessly. However I was disappointed to find it did not have an "Image Integrity" check to find out if the image files created would work when I needed them. AND I was not about to Restore the newly created backup image files What ReDO needs is another Ic0n Butten Called "Integrity Check" In the main Backup / Restore Menu
