This is Test version of the RecordEditor so please report any issues. The last production version was 0.69.1 which is available at Source Forge People who are upgrading (or using the Generic Version) will notice a slight delay when starting the first time as the package updates the Database. Also program a littile longer to start than past releases. I use a program pack200 to compress the JARS; the installs then uncompress the jars. Occasionally the uncompress fails and the programs will not start. There should be one of NsisUnpack.jar or unpackSubDirectories.jar in the RecordEditor lib directory. These two programs can uncompress the jars (alternately there is the unpack200.exe supplied with java). For Windows 7 / Vista users, you need to make allowances for UAC (i.e. turn it off or uncompress outside C:\program files). Changes Changes 0.69.2c Changes in version 0.69.2c all relate to CSV files. The changes include * For simple CSV files - options to add, delete, nove and rename columns. Also Field Seperator and Quotes can be changed. * Updated Save-As/Export disalogue - Improved CSV export and New Fixed-Width export option * Update Option Screen, also most options now take affect immediately. * Update Generic CSV dialogue to support Unicode CSV files. * Updates for Nimbus also making Nimbus the default Look and Feel for Linux/Unix. Changes 0.69.2b Changes in version 0.69.2b all relate to supporting Large files. The changes include * Use of a Spill or Overflow file to allow bigger files to be editted. * Optimisation of the Byte-Text-IO code. * New File-Model for Large-Fixed-Length files. * New large VB Model for other files. * New Big File option screen (Edit >>>> Edit Startup Parameters ;;; Properties >>>> Big Model Options) * If you are dealing with very large files, please read Finally any comments, suggestions and details on Files / Computer being used is most welcome. There is no single best solution for dealing with Very Large Files, rather a series of solutions based on the file and computer being used. Changes 0.69.2a Changes in this version: * Can save Field Sequence/Fixed fields (via Edit >>>> Save Field Sequence) and later restore them via the View >>>> Load Saved Field Sequences * Can optionally save field sequences with Hide Field details on the Hide Fields screen (Edit >>>> Save Field Sequence). * New locate line option (Right Click Menu and Ctrl-L). * Support for much larger files (generally 10 times larger than previous version of the RecordEditor). See "Big Files" for details. If you are editing big files, I would be interested in how well the changes work, * Problem fix's in Save-Layout as Xml and Save-Hidden-fields.
