  • This app shows drives. Actually: No! It shows partitions. tl;dr: "Windows Disk Management" seems to do the same with more detail and less hassle. For Windows I do not see the point of this program. Opening Windows-Explorer and selecting "Computer" gives the same information. And if you would want more details go into Windows "Disk Managment" which gives you more detailed information and actually tells you which Partitions are on which drive AND if there is a drive without a partition it will tell you too. I did not find where I could choose a default action for when a new drive is found (aside from that Auto-Run from Windows already does that). All in all this Program has no use for me whatsoever. I'd rate this poor but the GUI design is really good, shows that there was quite some effort put into this and also I am hoping I missed their key feature. Note: The Download button does not give you the most current version (1.2.0.0 at this time is the current one). Note2: You might end up with ReatTimeDrivesScout.exe Zombies processes (which are unkillable because they are waiting for IO response (forever). To remedy this you HAVE TO reboot. After reboot you can run Updater.exe in your installation folder which will download a more up-to-date 1.2.0.0 version (funny that the version number is the same) which will then actually work. To prevent this make sure you are not starting the App after installation (uncheck the box!) and run Updater.exe immediately after. PS: sorry for the unreadable wall of text, but I blame SF because they are trimming the newlines.
