About the donationware version: Versions 2.0 and above are donationware, as I have put a lot of time into developing and maintaining them. You can use all of the versions (if not, let me know) for free, however there may be a delay of ~15 seconds on launch.
N.B versions 2.0 and above are rewritten, and do not share any code with Raspberry Pi Emulator versions below 2.0.

- Linux: Raspberry Pi Emulator/SharedSupport/
- Mac OS X: Raspberry Pi Emulator.app/Contents/SharedSupport/

QEMU will be installed automatically.
If installation of Qemu fails, please try the following (without dollar sign)"

• Linux:	$ apt-get install qemu

• Mac OS X:	$ /usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" && brew update && brew install qemu

Note that the command for Mac is one line, not two.
