  • I love this software. I have been doing unix systems administration in large sites since before the Internet had a ".com". Last year, working at a new job where there were many, many legacy systems and a co-worker with a long history with the company and an incredible memory, I needed something to keep up. Doing some research, I found racktables, installed on my linux workstation, my co-worker and I looked at it and thought it looked acceptable. East to set up, easy to use, and easy to maintain. All good! And it is has turned out to be all those and reliable and sturdy as well. Over the past year, I got pretty much everything entered, we moved all our systems to a new data center, and are now using it for inventory purposes as well. Thank you, racktables team! Well done! (It is now running on an actual server system, and I wrote a simple backup script for it, so it's all good!)
  • Really nice software! We started using it for asset management - and ended up planning a whole DC move with it...
  • Nice project, We might be using this for our company and customers. Would like to see some more multi tenancy and maybe the possibility to hide the objects and rows where a user has no racks that he owns. I followed this in your wiki: "Permitting a user to view his own assets" But he still sees other infrastructure as blacked out. He might not be able to click on it, but it would be nice if it would be hidden for him.
  • Great project! The ip/ipv6 tree manager is awesome!
  • Great little bit of software. Simple to set up, very flexible, and lends itself to modification to make it even more flexible. Now using it as our main server hardware inventory.

  • we use this for managing 4 dc with ~2000 physical equipments
  • Keep up the great work guys! Love the flexibility. Had this at 4 since it seemed like it still needed some work (which all tools do), but after digging into some of the "automation" features on the wiki, I'm upping to 5. Still not a drop and go solution, but with some configuration looks like it'll pay dividends for years.
  • Simple, setup. Great word processing, and presentations. Wonderful export options. However, the spreadsheet processing has some room for improvement.

  • Great Software. Easy to install and setup. Exceedingly adaptable. I have been able to adapt it for use in a TV station environment with a wide variety of equipment and cable types.

  • Good and useful software
  • Really nice software!! I'm using! It would be nice if we could set de power consumption and heat dsissiaption per object and the software could sum it all per rack or row!! It would be nice to represent the link between 2 network interfaces using a RJ-45 jack in the patch-pannel. I tried to do this but I could not. It's possible?

  • Excellent asset and facility management tool. Scales good with large datacenters. Spanning multiple locations. Just filling with initial data is (assuming many devices exist already) a pain in the a** ;)
