Racktables is a nifty and robust solution for datacenter and server room asset management. It helps document hardware assets, network addresses, space in racks, networks configuration and much much more!
- IPAM (IPv4/IPv6 address management)
- rackspace documentation
- full support of Unicode for user's data
- 802.1Q VLAN management
- permission control
- CWDM and DWDM channel grids
- pluggable (SFP, XFP, XENPAK...) transceivers
- neighbor discovery via CDP and LLDP
- integration with Cacti and Munin
- patch cables accounting
Really nice software! We started using it for asset management - and ended up planning a whole DC move with it...
Great project! The ip/ipv6 tree manager is awesome!
Great little bit of software. Simple to set up, very flexible, and lends itself to modification to make it even more flexible. Now using it as our main server hardware inventory.
we use this for managing 4 dc with ~2000 physical equipments
Keep up the great work guys! Love the flexibility. Had this at 4 since it seemed like it still needed some work (which all tools do), but after digging into some of the "automation" features on the wiki, I'm upping to 5. Still not a drop and go solution, but with some configuration looks like it'll pay dividends for years.
