  • Cannot load photo in program, as soon as I hit the green plus key, message that program, stops working. I use Windows 10. Is there a solution

  • nice, this save me a lot of times

  • Very good app, but MSVC ?, well to avoid days of realignment from such specifics i just grabbed the src of QTpfsGui 1.9.3, and ran the pro file with QT creator, with only one issue detected in one ui file as a redundant string, easily detected in the first compile runs. QTpfs gui runs perfectly on the latest "split up" OpenEXR's src packages, all c++ compiled with -Ofast on top of QT compiled with -O3, can really recommend a try as it outperforms the here provided executables by all standards, have performed flawlessly for some 5 months now, even using psd's So I recommend this setup, as the only change needed was to resize the main gui to modern screen standards, think it will compile with mingw 4.6 and up, have only tested down to 4.7.3 Thereby not in any way disrespecting the code writings in this project Well done guys !

  • Horrible software! Unintuitive interface No documentation Output file does not match preview Don't waste your time!

  • Pros: - Generates better HDR images than pfstools. - If you spend a few days trying to figure out the tone mapping algorithms you can actually learn to get very realistic results. - Batch HDR creation and tone mapping - Auto-alignment using align_image_stack - Scriptable (accepts command-line arguments) Cons: - Interface from the 20th century. - Developers seem to ignore even very important bug reports (DATA LOSS!). - Lack of adjustment features (no curves, not even auto-levels!) so you need to save tone-mapped images as 16-bit TIFF files and do all adjustments in other software (which wouldn't be a problem if not for the fact that often the tone-mapped images are too dark to judge whether you tone-mapped them well, and if you try to brighten them in LHDR you will clip highlights because LHDR has no highlight compression or curves). - No preview during HDR generation so you don't know what you're doing till it's done, and if you don't like it you have to start from scratch. - Auto-alignment using align_image_stack (single-threaded, not optimized, slow as hell! but not LHDR's fault). Why do I use it? Because I learned to get realistic results. Here's a time-saver tip for you. When tone-mapping using Durand, use: Base Contrast - 3.20 Spatial Kernel Sigma - 2.00 Range Kernel Sigma - 1.5 and when using Mantiuk '06, use: Contrast Factor: 0.40 Saturation Factor: 0.80 Detail Factor: 5 Click "Save current parameters to a text file" and just open them when needed. They will work very well in most cases, giving natural results without clipping anything, though the results will look washed out (see URL1 at the end). The reason for this is so that you can then use the Levels tool and drag the white and black point sliders to touch both ends of the light and dark data without clipping highlights or shadows (see URL2 at the end). This will greatly improve the look, though the image will still need processing, so now save as 16-bit TIFF and post-process in an external program. • It's been a complete nightmare trying to get latest version installed on linux (easypeasy [ubuntu 10.04]) After 2 hours of finding what dependencies I need I still get errors when building. Great.

  • Just downloaded the software on my Mac with 10.08 version (the latest version available) but it is not opening up. I am downloading one more time hoping to eradicate any errors that might have popped in. Any advise where a mistake has been made or advise in opening the program.

  • 4 of 5 stars. Not user friendly interface, but it very helpful

  • It saves my time. highly recommended

  • Worked very well on my Mac, the interface is a little sparse but it has a lot of tweakable features in there.

  • Best tool in his category, even beter than comercial software

  • nice photo program

  • You should run through the interface ten million times when will start to understand what is made for what in this tool! You will hardly understand what exact purpose this soft by the face design... title windows can help but the better help will be other 10 million bugs of all kinds.
